Tattoo kit hidden in boot heel

The document that accompanied this member-submitted contraband tip included this text: “On November 24, 2010 during a search of an inmate at Lawrence CC, it was discovered that a pair of State issued black boots had an area cut out of the heel. Concealed inside the heel were items used for doing tattoos i.e. one razor, one homemade needle, one piece of ink pen, one small motor and wire.”

“While conducting searches it is recommended that staff pay close attention to any boots or shoes that show any sign of being altered. Any findings should be reported to the facility Investigations Unit and Security Specialist.”

That’s a good lesson for all you officers out there, and something we’ve certainly seen before in Corrections1 contraband member submissions.
