This 5-Day Verbal Judo Train-the-Trainer Instructor Certification Course will give the instructor the expertise to teach Verbal Judo, which is a two day program, designed for police and other Public Safety personnel, whose duties require them to resolve tense confrontations peacefully and safely with tactically-designed communication skills. Open to Police, Corrections & First Responders of all types.

Students will receive a power point presentation with 44 embedded videos, an 80 page instructor manual, a DVD, two books--“Verbal Judo: The Art of Gentle Persuasion” and “Redirecting Behavior With Words”-- by George Thompson PhD, a three-hour Mini Course, a Verbal Judo instructor golf shirt, an instructor pin, and an instructor certificate.

The course will be taught by Verbal Judo founder, author, national speaker, and former police officer, Dr. George Thompson. Verbal Judo is the top rated law enforcement communication course in the country with over 700,000 officers as graduates, from over 700 departments, including the Los Angeles Police Department and the New York City Police Department.

Verbal Judo teaches a philosophy of how to look creatively at conflict and use specific strategies and tactics to find peaceful resolutions. Dealing with the public is often difficult and trying emotionally. Maintaining a “professional face” is crucial if officers are to remain under emotional control to effectively find solutions to potentially violent encounters without escalating to physical force options. These communication tactics also provide a legally defensible bridge to physical force options when physical force becomes necessary.
