COLUMBUS, Ohio — Battelle has joined with a Dublin company to provide a new technology product focused on homeland security.
The product combines analytic tools from Battelle with software created by Sypherlink Inc. to help government agencies quickly sift through and analyze large amounts of data, identifying potential links to terrorism.
The organizations say the tool will save government agencies time and money “for deployment of critical national-security initiatives.”
The product opens up more markets for Battelle in the area of national security, said Moses Kamai, knowledge-management-practice leader for Battelle’s National Security Division.
The product, called Information Fusion Solution, is built around Sypherlink’s software, which automates the process of sharing information between computer systems.
Previously, people had to manually access information from multiple sources and analyze it. One of the main benefits is time savings. Instead of taking several months or even years, a project now could take less than 90 days, Kamai said.
Especially when it comes to terrorism-related information, “It’s all about time,” said James Paat, president and chief executive of Sypherlink.
Several government agencies already are using the product. The organizations declined to identify them but said they are federal and state agencies.
