5 Okla. COs attacked by multiple inmates

All five officers were treated and released

CUSHING, Okla. — Five Cimarron corrections officers were injured when multiple inmates attacked them.

Prison officials told KFOR that an inmate refused to comply with orders Tuesday night.

When the CO deployed pepper spray, several inmates assaulted the officer and other responding officers. More pepper spray was deployed to end the assault.

The five officers were treated at a local hospital and released. No inmates were injured.

An investigation is ongoing.
