GLOCK, Inc. Announces TEAM GLOCK Shooting Squad Perfecting 1st Quarter of 2007

Smyrna, GA—The TEAM GLOCK Shooting Squad has started the 2007 season out with a bang with three consecutive wins. The Shooting Squad, made up of Dave Sevigny, Randi Rogers and Jessie Abbate, recently competed in the SCSA Georgia Steel Championship on January 5-6, 2007 at the Griffin Gun Club in Griffin, GA. Due to some very intensive off-season training Dave was awarded the Open (high overall) and Limited Championship. Randi Rogers received honors of being titled Limited and Production High Lady and Jessie Abbate received the Open High Lady title for the competition.

Steel Shooting is a spectator friendly event, because each shot from the competitors can be seen and heard as they hit the steel. Top level shooters often fire five shots from the draw in less than two seconds. The Georgia Steel Championship proved to be the premier performance for the TEAM GLOCK Shooting Squad so far in the early part of the 2007 season. “They came home with titles in every division and category that they entered,” stated Stephanie Plumecocq, Director of Marketing and Advertising. TEAM GLOCK will compete in the three remaining steel events on the 2007 season schedule. Dave Sevigny and Jessie Abbate will compete at the SCSA Nationals in March and the World Speed Shooting Championship in August. Randi Rogers will compete at the Winchester World Challenge and American Handgunner World Shoot – Off in July.

The USPSA Florida Open was held on February 15-18 at the Universal Shooting Academy in Frostproof, FL. Here Dave Sevigny, Captain of the TEAM GLOCK Shooting Squad, won four stages and the Limited title at the competition with a GLOCK 35 long slide competition pistol. Regarded as one of the most technical and exciting USPSA tournaments in the country, a large field of US and International competitors showed up to attempt to take one of the first major tournaments of the young season. It was an extremely tight match among several of the best Grandmasters in the country. The top three competitors finished within four points of each other. Dave Sevigny and Jessie Abbate are penciled in to compete at the USPSA Limited – 10 Nationals in June and the Production Nationals in September.

Dave Sevigny went on to compete in the IDPA Winter Championship competition at the Smith & Wesson Shooting Sports Center in Springfield, MA on February 22-24th. Without “home field advantage” Dave scored the best overall time to win the honors of being titled the Stock Service Pistol & High Gun Industry Championship. This was Sevigny’s fifth win at the Winter Championship since 2000.

The IDPA Winter Championship is one of most prestigious IDPA tournaments next to the IDPA Nationals. Dave won the Stock Service Pistol (SSP) Championship as well as every stage in the SSP division. Aaron Roberts, Blackwater Firearm and Tactics instructor also shot with a GLOCK pistol and posted the second best Enhanced Service Pistol (ESP) division score and third highest in the match.

Sevigny and Randi Rogers are also scheduled to compete in the IDPA Nationals in September 2007. Sevigny states, “2007 is shaping up to be another great year for the Squad. We’re in good spirits right now with the early success we’ve shared. Winning the Steel Match, Florida Open and Winter Championship are rewarding for our efforts, but it’s a long season and there is still plenty of work to do. I have high expectations that we will continue to respond positively to the challenges ahead.
