Autoclear Wins Checkpoint Scanning System Bid for State of Tennessee

FAIRFIELD, N.J., (March 2015) – Autoclear, a global designer and manufacturer of innovative security screening equipment, today announced it has been awarded a contract with the State of Tennessee to supply and install more than 40 X-ray scanners to screen for threats and contraband.

Three Autoclear X-ray inspection systems – the 5333, 6040 and 7555 – will be installed over the next two years at numerous correctional facilities within the state.

“Personal items, letters and packages can be cleared more quickly with X-ray imaging than by manual inspection,” said John Fenwick, vice president of sales for Autoclear. “Reducing contraband, such as drugs, sharpened items and cell phone SIM cards, in the facility ultimately makes the environment safer for officers, staff and inmates.”

The systems had to meet rigorous performance standards and provide a number of image enhancement features to aid operators in detecting potential threats and contraband. Autoclear X-ray inspection systems offer high image quality, a full size keyboard for easy operation and a small footprint design.
