Smell leads police to body in closet of Ind. home
Correctional officer making home inspection reports smell to police, body found in closet
FORT WAYNE, Ind. — Police investigating a report of a smell in a home by a corrections officer led to a body being found in a bedroom closet.
Fort Wayne police spokesman Officer Michael Joyner says the body was found Saturday. No arrests have been made. An autopsy will be performed by the Allen County coroner’s office to determine the cause and manner of death.
Police say the corrections officers became suspicious about the answers of two occupants of the house when he asked about the odor during a home inspection.
WANE-TV reports that a neighbor who lives across the street says three adults lived in the home and that the neighbor said he hasn’t seen the homeowner for weeks.
