BEIRUT, Lebanon — Correctional officers foiled an attempt Tuesday to smuggle mobile phones inside milk cartons, the Internal Security Forces said.

The ISF wrote on that two people, identified by the initials Y.S. and A. A., were detained for attempting to smuggle the phones to M.A., an inmate inside Tripoli's Prison.

Over the past year, prison guards at different Lebanese jails have foiled attempts to smuggle drugs and other contraband inside cucumbers, pizza, yogurt, labneh, pistachios and halawa, in addition to shoes, clothes and mopsticks.
