AUBURN, Wash. A grand jury Thursday indicted a man on charges that he shot at law enforcement in Auburn this summer, injuring a state Department of Corrections officer.

Randy Lee Hall, 31, is charged with assault of a person assisting federal officers, assault of federal officers, using a firearm during a crime of violence, and unlawful gun and ammunition possession.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office:

Investigators had linked Hall to multiple guns and incidents in which shots were fired.

Seattle police officers, state Department of Corrections officers, and federal agents with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives went to arrest him June 28 at an Auburn apartment.

When Hall came out, he allegedly fired a pistol at two of the federal agents and two of the corrections officers. The corrections officer who was hit, 46-year-old Kristoffer Rongen, later recovered from his injuries.

Hall also was shot and treated for his wounds.

He’s scheduled to be arraigned Sept. 1.
