The officer suffered a broken eye socket, a torn rotator cuff and a serious concussion

OAK PARK HEIGHTS, Minn. — Newly released video shows a CO being attacked by an inmate in 2018.

According to 5 Eyewitness News, corrections officer James Lange was attacked by 31-year-old inmate Joshua Anthony Jones while Lange was checking in inmates returning to their cell blocks after time in the gym.

The inmate was convicted on April 4 for the officer’s assault. Jones was already serving time for a 2010 felony conviction for assault with a dangerous weapon in the benefit of a gang.

Lange suffered a broken eye socket, a torn rotator cuff and serious concussion as a result of the attack and is no longer employed with the Minnesota DOC, Eyewitness News reports.
