MANSFIELD, Ark. — A fight at the Mansfield Juvenile Treatment Center Sunday led to two juveniles and a staff member being arrested, a Sebastian County Sheriff’s Office news release states.

Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the Mansfield Juvenile Treatment Center at about 6:30 p.m. Sunday in reference to a fight between several juveniles, according to the Monday release. The fight between male and female juvenile detainees had already been broken up by staff members when the deputies arrived. EMS was on the scene, but no one had to be transported to the hospital.

Deputies discovered one staff member had been injured during the fight and assaulted by a male detainee. They also determined a female detainee tried to escape during the altercation.

A staff member, Caleb Davis, 25, of Huntington, kicked a detainee in his thigh area and forced him to the ground, the release adds. The detainee was in handcuffs. Deputies arrested Davis on suspicion of third-degree battery. Davis had told deputies he was the staff supervisor on duty. He was booked into the Sebastian County Adult Detention Center on a $1,000 bond. He bonded out Monday, according to the Sebastian County Sheriff’s Office inmate summary.

A 16-year-old male detainee was also arrested on suspicion of second-degree battery, and a 14-year-old female detainee were arrested on suspicion of third-degree attempted escape, the release adds. They were taken to the Sebastian County Juvenile Detention Center.
