CLEVELAND — A former corrections officer is still dedicating himself to a life of service after hanging up his boots.

According to News 5, former CO Bob Ivory is helping kids who are struggling in high school stay out of trouble through his county-funded program “Students of Promise.”

“That’s not the end of the road for them,” Ivory told News 5.

The program helps teens who may be heading toward a life of crime refocus their efforts on their studies and leads them on a path to success.

“Sometimes you need that push. You need that person that’s always on your back, always telling you what you can do and not what you can’t do,” Deandre Thomas, who is one of the students in the program, said.
