The Alcatraz East Crime Museum gives visitors the chance to learn the finer points of forensic investigation. Guests can learn about topics such as forensic anthropology, forensics lingo and how to examine fingerprints.

“We give [visitors] a chance to view the evidence that puts dangerous criminals away, and learn the methods used by investigators in an interactive setting,” Museum Director of Artifacts and Exhibits Rachael Penman said. “From a crime scene investigation lab to an area on cold cases, our guests see how what they watch on TV applies in the real world.”

The museum features an expert advisory board including prominent members of law enforcement and crime scene investigation.
