About Dan Watermeier
Dan Watermeier grew up in Syracuse, Nebraska and graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a degree in Agriculture. After graduation, Watermeier worked for Cargill, Inc. before pursuing a career farming. Watermeier served on the Otoe County Extension Board, the Nemaha NRD and the Nebraska Natural Resource Commission before being elected to the Legislature in 2012.

During his time in the Unicameral, Watermeier has served on the Health and Human Services and Transportation and Telecommunications committees. Currently, he serves as Vice Chair of the Executive Board and Chair of the Performance Audit Committee and is a member of the Appropriations Committee. Watermeier has been married to his wife, Jean Ann, for 30 years. They have three daughters and three grandchildren.
