SAN FRANCISCO — The San Francisco Sheriff’s Office is seeking an inmate who escaped Monday night while taking out the trash.
Alex Santiago-Gonzales is the second inmate in less than 10 months to make such a getaway, according to NBC News.
Timothy Midgett also took off while taking out the trash in June 2014. He was later found and arrested at a homeless shelter.
A sheriff’s spokeswoman said that there is an active internal investigation to review “policies, procedure and circumstances surrounding the escape.”
