BEIRUT — A new attempt to smuggle drugs into a prison was foiled by authorities in east Saturday, the reports.

Visitors of the prisoners had stashed hashish in meat sandwiches delivered to the inmates in prison, the state-run news agency said.

Prison guards discovered the drugs after a thorough search of the delivery in light of recent attempts by inmates and their relatives to hide hashish in food items.
