Minnesota Department of Corrections has been seeing a new method of making/concealing drugs among some of their inmates. Offenders in their facilities have been melting jolly ranchers and crushing up medications and mixing them together.
Staff found inmates putting the concoction in butter containers obtained from the cafeteria. There is a concern that if they placed them back into the original wrapper it may go unnoticed.
There are also reports that offenders are fashioning the drugs to look like lollipops as well, but that has yet to be confirmed by DOC.
This method of producing illegal drugs is part of a large problem: abuse of prescription medications in correctional facilities. Be on the lookout for clever drug disguises, such as this one.
