MT. VERNON, Mo. — A man is behind bars after running his truck into the Lawrence County Jail.
Four States Home Page reports that a man originally entered the jail claiming he had been shot. When deputies attempted to assist him, he fled the premises.
Deputies exited the jail, looking for the man, only to see that he’d run his car into the front of the building.
During a struggle, the man attempted to take a deputy’s TASER out of its holster, but he was restrained. One deputy received minor injuries during the struggle.
The unnamed man will be charged with driving under the influence and assault on a law enforcement officer.
