(CALEA), the American Correctional Association (ACA), and the National Commission on Correctional Healthcare (NCCHC). Additionally, the agency is accredited by the ANSI National Accreditation Board (ANAB) for the forensic inspection activities performed by the AFIS Division (Latent Unit), Forensic Sciences Division, and the Forensic Imaging Unit, and by the Airborne Public Safety Association (APSA) for activities performed by the Flight Unit.
This position performs work of average difficulty and responsibility in dealing with persons under confinement and includes the care, custody, restraint, and general welfare of inmates detained at the Department of Detention and Corrections. Incumbent generally works an assigned shift at an assigned facility, but may be called upon to continue duties or perform work assigned on other shifts and at other times as directed. Positions require the member to work on rotating shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays. Work is performed with some independence. Incumbent must be able to exercise good judgment and initiative in handling routine and emergency situations.

-Must have three (3) or more years Certified Detention experience to receive the following:
* Signing bonus = $3,000
*Relocation Stipend to Pinellas County
-From out of state $3,00
-From Manatee, Hillsborough or Pasco Counties $500
-From all other Florida locations $1,500
* Two year prorated buyback
* Certification of completion of basic police officer training as required by the State of Florida
* High school graduation or equivalent diploma from an institution accredited by an accrediting body recognized by the U. S. Dept. of Education or licensed as a degree granting institution by the Commission for Independent Education, pursuant to Section 1005.02(7), F.S.
* Consideration for this position requires a credit check
*Must possess a valid Florida Driver's License
