Job Description

The Washington County Sheriff's Office is actively recruiting to create a pool of candidates eligible for current and future Recruit Deputy vacancies in our Jail Division.

Jail Recruit Deputies learn basic concepts of corrections and how to implement procedures, rules, and regulations for the jail, which can include: booking, prisoner care, security, and transportation. To learn more, visit: joinwcso.com

WCSO will pull scores from National Testing Network (NTN) on 8/30/2019, so if you are planning to apply, the following MUST be in the NTN system (visible to WCSO) by 11:59 p.m. on 8/29/2019.

Job Requirements

  • Age: 21
  • Education: High School garduate or GED
  • Experience: Not required

Must be at least 21 years of age by hire date.

US Citizen: Jail Recruit Deputies must obtain U.S. citizenship within 12 months of hire.

High School Grad/GED: Must be a high school graduate or possess a General Educational Development (GED) certificate of high school equivalency.

Valid OREGON State Driver's License: Must possess a driver's license valid in the State of Oregon and have an acceptable driving record.

Ability to Read/Speak English.

Vision: Not less than 20/200 in one eye or both eyes, corrected to 20/20 in both eyes combined.

College: Two years of college-level course work at an accredited institution of higher learning in the liberal arts, social science or related field is desirable but not required.
