Job Description:

The J. Reuben Long Detention Center is recruiting new officers to work at our state of the art, pre-trial, 1000 bed, direct supervision facility. Located just minutes from the beautiful Grand Strand and Myrtle Beach, SC., you will have a family friendly work schedule with plenty of time off to enjoy the sun, sand, and warm Atlantic Ocean.

Under limited supervision, performs a variety of semi-routine duties, which ensure discipline, safety and security among inmates confined in the county detention center. Performs duties in accordance with federal, state and local jail laws and standards.

Additional Information:

Applicants must be 21 years of age at the time of appointment, with a minimum High School diploma or GED. All applicants must be eligible to work in the United States and be of good moral character. An extensive criminal background, reference check, drivers abstract, and credit history will be completed prior to any offer of employment. Please submit an application as directed, making yourself available for a written exam, as well as pass the minimum physical, medical, mental health, and polygraph standards.
