Alex James Full restraints, two CO’s at all times. If an onsite body scanner is available to use, use it. If results are inconclusive, transport to nearest hospital for x-ray of leg. Then add additional charges and restitution to the state for the cost of the hospital visit and tying up 2 CO’s.
RoseRoy Ellsworth Sometime they put steel braces in the cast and or rods in the leg; best to have it x-rayed. Then terroristic threat added to the charges.
Mark Christie Metal detector to clear the threat, then suicide watch until the cast comes off by medical.
Wendy Mickler Our facility has a scanner. All incoming gets scanned as part of pat downs upon arrival.
Jesse Pease How about using a wand to see if there was metal inside his cast and save thousands of dollars? If the results came back inconclusive do exactly what they did.
Stephanie Muessig-Lafaso Took him to medical and had them cut the cast off
Rick Gates We require an X-Ray before the booking process starts. A lot of cops get mad and pissy because they have to take perp to hospital. But this is one rule we don’t bend!
Brian Berry We have a body scan machine at our facility: Straight to it, in cuffs of course!
Jeremy D Everett Immediately secure him in restraint chair, pat him down; look for opening in cast, run metal detector over him and the possibly X-ray. And video the who thing!
Todd Gilman Inmates are not allowed hard casts in our facility. So if a doctor was available, the hard cast would be removed. If not, a trip to the hospital in full restraints and a police escort followed by the inmate being charged with uttering death threats — even if there was no weapon found.
