Contraband: Cooler insulation

This image, submitted by a C1 member, shows the necessity of metal detectors in prisons.

“This was discovered by my team during a cert search of an honor house in a prison in Missouri,” the member wrote. “The offenders in this house obviously have special priveleges.

“Wanding of coolers and mattresses and such is crcual to our cert teams’ success.”

The inside layers of the cooler can be removed in order to hide contraband within the hollowed-out areas in the insulation.

The needles in the photo tested positive for narcotics.
