Contraband: Playing card purse

A C1 member sent in this photo of an unusual piece of contraband that’s less threatening and more…artistic.

The reader wrote, “Attached is a picture of contraband that we confiscated a few days ago while doing a mass shakedown at the Lee County Jail in Florida. It is a very well-constructed woman’s purse.

“It is made entirely from playing cards, and includes a flap to close it and a pocket inside (not in the picture). The strange part about the purse is that we found it in a male’s cell - not something that we could really explain.

“If these guys would apply their creativity in a positive way on the outside, maybe we would stop seeing them in jail.”
