SHAMOKIN, Pa. — An inmate serving time for trying to make a cellphone video of a teen girl in a bookstore bathroom has been accused of assaulting a female counselor in January.
Inmate Dustin Michael Cornelius, 20, is accused of hitting a drug and alcohol specialist counselor on the back of the head with a master lock wrapped in tape and trying to sexually assault her, Penn Live reports.
According to the arrest affidavit, Cornelius requested to meet with the counselor in a day room in an housing unit to discuss his aftercare plan since he was about to graduate from a drug and alcohol program. He asked to speak with the counselor in private to discuss personal issues.
After speaking for a few minutes, the inmate left to get a drink of water then returned and asked the counselor about her personal relationships. The counselor ended the session and attempted to leave.
While trying to open the door, the inmate struck her on the back of the head, causing her to bleed. She screamed and was pulled to the floor. She was able to break loose during the struggle and run out of the room.
The counselor required three staples to close her head wound and also suffered brush burns to her hand, right shoulder and lip.
According to the affidavit, the inmate’s cellmate said Cornelius fantasized about a sexual relationship with the counselor and asked him how to knock someone out.
Cornelius is serving a two to 10 year sentence from previous charges in May 2017 and now has additional charges of aggravated and simple assault, attempted rape, unlawful restraint, possession of an instrument of crime, recklessly endangering another person, assault by a prisoner and harassment.
