NEWPORT, Pa. — An inmate has been charged after an attack on a CO that required hospitalization and surgery.
Victor Manuel Morales Jr., 25, approached CO Erik L. Daniels and repeatedly punched him in the face and head on May 19, The Times Leader reported.
Daniels’ colleagues deployed pepper spray and pulled Morales off the CO. Daniels, 33, was transported to the hospital where he was treated for a broken nose and concussion. He had to undergo surgery for his nose injuries, the publication reported.
Morales was charged with aggravated assault and simple assault. He was transferred to another prison.
