LOUISVILLE, Ky. — An inmate accused of biting a Louisville Metro Department of Corrections officer made a request of a judge Thursday morning.

“As long as I get my phone call, because my rights ain’t been met here,” inmate Kiana Beard said, according to WDRB. “That’s why I got this assault charge.”

Police say Beard became combative yesterday, attacking a corrections officer and biting the officer on the arm.

The arrest report stated that Beard bit so close to a major artery that, if damaged, could have caused serious issues.

A not guilty plea was entered on her behalf.

It’s not the first time Beard has been known to bite – she was originally arrested for threatening to kill and biting a 67-year-old woman in the face during a robbery of a Cash Advance in Louisville, Ky, according to WAVE.
