If you believe everyone deserves a second chance, that sentiment would include prisoners. Our criminal justice system offers different programs to help inmates succeed in life from GED prep to vocational education training to faith-based rehabilitation.

Mark Hicks, the President of Disciple Bible Outreach Ministries stopped by the Good Morning Show to talk about faith-based prison programs and their effectiveness. He also brought Daimon King, a former inmate, to share his experience. King credits the organization with helping turn his life around.

King said if it weren’t for the program, he doesn’t know where he would be. The ministry gave him a feeling of home, belonging, and responsibility. Hicks said this program works at significantly lowering the rate of inmates returning to prison. Disciple Bible Outreach Ministries is now currently available in five different states.
