Tip: Carry a baton with authority

Batons are useful in corrections, but unfortunately many of us don't know how to hold a baton to use it to defend ourselves. This video provides tips and strategies for carrying a baton out of the holder so you look in-control at all times.

"Many times when we carry the baton we get bored and we don't know what to do with it. That's a problem because it's not functional and we can't use it to defend ourselves and it looks unprofessional," says Gary Klugiewicz.

Gary T. Klugiewicz is retired from the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Department where he served three tours of duty "inside the walls" as a Correctional Officer, Deputy, Sergeant, and Captain.
