2 barrels of human remains found in SC lake

The first plastic barrel was found on the shore of Lake Hartwell on Wednesday with a woman's body inside

Associated Press

ANDERSON, S.C. — Two bodies have been found stuffed in barrels in a South Carolina lake and authorities believe they could be those of two people missing for a month.

The first plastic barrel was found on the shore of Lake Hartwell on Wednesday with a woman's body inside.

Anderson County Coroner Greg Shore said another metal barrel with a man's body inside was found nearby

Investigators believe the body could be a man who has been missing for a month, but they were waiting on an autopsy to confirm his identity and a cause of death.

The woman has been identified, but her name has not been released because all her family has not been notified. She hadn't been seen for more than 30 days.
