ASHBURN, Va. — A corrections officer was charged with assault and battery following an altercation with a friend in Loudoun County Thursday.
Police say 29-year-old Robert B. DeGroot, of Ashburn – a seven-year veteran corrections officer with the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office – was charged with misdemeanor assault and battery, as well as strangulation causing wounding or injury.
On Thursday, Dec. 27, Loudoun County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a home on Bruceton Mills Circle in Ashburn around 7 p.m. for a report of disorderly conduct.
