Former correction officer to face 11 charges on sex crimes

The charges are all felonies and he is being held on a $350,000 cash only bond

LUNA COUNTY, N.M. — The former corrections officer charged with molesting a family member was taken into custody Wednesday by the Luna County Sheriff's Reserves.

Roy Lewis, 30, listed with a Silver City address, was arrested Monday evening in Clifton, Az. by Arizona authorities on a warrant for three charges of kidnapping, three charges of criminal sexual penetration of a minor, three charges of criminal sexual contact with a minor, bribery/intimidation of a witness and assault with intent to commit a violent felony.

The charges are all felonies and he is being held on a $350,000 cash only bond.

His charges relate to incidents that allegedly occured between April 2006 and Jan. 2007. The Luna County Sheriff's Office took on the case on Jan. 22 when they were dispatched to speak with the family concerning the three alleged incidents.
