Will Casey Anthony jailhouse video be released?

A Florida judge hasn’t decided if he will release the protected tape

By CorrectionsOne Staff

ORLANDO — A Florida judge hasn't decided if he will release a jailhouse video of Casey Anthony reacting to news her daughter Caylee's remains were found in 2008 according to The Associated Press.

An attorney from an Orlando TV station WKMG argued the video is a public record. However, Anthony's attorney Jose Baez said it is protected under medical privacy laws because Anthony was given drugs to "help calm her down at the time."

The tape has been sealed since 2009 because of fears it would affect Anthony's ability to receive a fair trial, according to reports.

Anthony was acquitted in July of killing her daughter and released from prison that month. Since then she has received extra security measures from the Florida DOC and was named "One of the Most Hated Women in America" by corrections officials.
