Video: Congressman talks about OC spray bill

H.R. 1175 would authorize the Bureau of Prisons to conduct a pilot program to determine if routinely issuing pepper spray to staff is effective

By CorrectionsOne Staff

WASHINGTON — A congressman spoke on the House floor in favor of a bill involving correctional staff and their use of pepper spray.

In a video posted to the YouTube page of Republican representative Morgan Griffith, he refers to a recent incident in which inmates injured officers at USP Lee in Virginia. Griffith said the officers were unable to properly defend themselves because of restrictions at their facility.
