Traffic and Criminal Software (TraCS) Chooses Trancite's Easy Street Draw
Florida State University has been running a successful pilot of TraCS including Easy Street Draw.
TraCS, the Traffic and Criminal Software of the Free National Model from Iowa, strives to improve Highway Safety – and Trancite's Easy Street Draw is one option available to users to help them do just that. As with any successful endeavor, TraCS relies on the strengths associated with a partnership.
For instance, while police agencies manage the software, Universities, such as Florida State University, help develop the software. Stanley Trimble, TraCS Project Manager for Florida State, recommends Easy Street Draw for its ease of use, even with little or no training. Though the software is briefly covered in training class – including such basics as how to open the diagramming software and how to change names – most students explore and learn on their own accord. 'Most people were using stencils before, so they jump on the chance for something easy.' Mr. Tremble further explains, the more you utilize the software, the more you find it capable. 'You can diagram any crash with it, even extremes.' From Trimble's perspective, issues have been minimal. One major issue arose when Florida agencies faced software incompatibilities; Easy Street Draw would not install on Windows 98. The problem was reported, Trancite provided a fix, and things ran smoothly from there. Stanley Trimbles advice to those states looking for a diagramming solution: 'this one's a good one' with ease of use and ease of connectivity you really cannot go wrong.
