Correctional Policy & Procedure:
Training staff on policy and procedure, Part 2
C1 Member Comment of the Week
"I have worked in corrections for over 20 years. I have found that "Firm, fair and consistent" works every time. I enforce the rules the same way every day. I treat all inmates the same way every day. I conduct myself in a professional manner every day. I have worked large living units, lock-down units — walked the yard with over 300 inmates in it, and have never been assaulted. I have been called a knuckle-dragger, a guard, a pig and other not so savory things, but through it all, I stay firm, fair and consistent. I go home after every shift knowing I have done my job."
