Video: Ky. inmate tries to escape custody

A suspect tried to escape police custody Monday after his hearing at the Jefferson County Courthouse

By CorrectionsOne Staff

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — An inmate in Louisville, Ky., attempted to escape custody after his hearing at the Jefferson County Courthouse on Monday.

The inmate had already appeared before the judge when he attacked a deputy so he was kept in a holding cell.

The trouble erupted when officers tried to get another inmate out of the same holding cell — that’s when the offender charged the door, pushing the deputy back in the process.

Officers were quickly able to contain both inmates as they barreled into the courtroom. The inmate is facing attempted escape and assault charges.
