Inmate attacks Colo. CO

The Associated Press

LIMON, Colo. A prison employee is recovering after an assault by an inmate at the Limon Correctional Facility.

Corrections Department spokeswoman Katherine Sanguinetti says the Correctional Industries supervisor was attacked around 3 p.m.

Sanguinetti said she could not release details of the woman's injuries and did not have details on how the attack happened. She said the woman was expected to live.

The supervisor's name wasn't released.

Inmate Allen Thomas Jr. is in custody pending an investigation into the assault. Sanguinetti says the 50-year-old inmate originally had been incarcerated for murder, sex assault, burglary and robbery.
